AfroMyth Volume 2 is no longer taking submissions! Authors, please check back or join our mailing list to find out when our next anthology opens for submissions.

General Submission Guidelines

We only publish stories in which at least one of the main characters is of indigenous African descent. Sorry, White South Africans, but you are of European descent.

Indigenous Africans are not necessarily Black. Lands like Egypt and Algeria have been relatively multiethnic for millennia.

While we welcome any genre of adult and new adult fiction, we gravitate towards speculative fiction and away from contemporary fiction. Please note that, at this time, we only publish fiction.

Whatever your genre, we want character-driven stories with strong voices. A powerful plot can only take a novel so far. If the characters can easily be replaced with talking turnips, we are not the publisher for you. We look for originality in the work; old favorites (like vampires and werewolves) are okay if you present them from a fresh new perspective.

Engage our senses.  Envelope us in the sights, the sounds, the flavor of the African diaspora.

What we do not want: non-fiction, children’s stories, poetry, and urban fiction (urban SFF is okay). Short stories are only accepted during anthology open submissions.
